1 Introduction Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is a synthetic polymer with many applications. It has been applied in various sectors, including medical and food industries that often come into contact with food [1]. However, PVA has insufficient properties, such as UV blocking, mechanical strength, and antibacterial effectiveness, that require improvement [2]. Consequently, this polymer is frequently used in blends with other polymer compounds to enhance its properties [1, 2].
