Abstract Importance of non-cognitive skills such as Grit is being increasingly recognised. Grit is the perseverance and passion needed to achieve long-term goals in the face of challenges. This study examines the relationship between Grit scores, academic achievement and learning approaches of dental students In this mixed method study, a validated Short Grit Scale was used to determine the Grit score of third year dental students (n = 62) and co-related to their assessment score.
