Epidemiology and genetic diversity of human respiratory syncytial virus in Belgium between 2011 and 2019 - Virology Journal

The data used in this study were obtained from patients presenting with a respiratory infection at the University Hospitals of Leuven (UZL) during 8 consecutive epidemic seasons (2011–2012 until 2018–2019), where they were tested for infection with HRSV. Samples that tested positive for HRSV, using lab developed duplex or multiplex real time PCR assays at the UZL Centre for Molecular Diagnostics (CEMOL), were further subtyped by subtype-specific real-time PCR assays.
