GSOCS-LULCC: A Global dataset of Soil Organic Carbon Stock dynamics following Land Use and Land Cover Change
Abstract The direction and magnitude of soil organic carbon stock (SOCS) changes following land use and land cover change (LULCC) remain highly uncertain, primarily due to a lack of relevant, comprehensive global soil data. Although substantial efforts have established SOCS databases at regional, national, and sub-continental scales, an open-access global database incorporating explicit environmental drivers is urgently needed to better understand the impacts of LULCC on SOCS dynamics.
Experiments and discussions on the shear strength of root-soil complexes after phytoremediation of ionic rare earth tailings soils
Abstract Herbaceous vegetation roots play a crucial role in improving soil shear strength during ecological restoration. This study investigates the shear strength characteristics of root-soil complexes in ionic rare earth tailings under the influence of various herbaceous plants and evaluates the applicability of the shear strength increment coefficient within the Wu-Waldron Model (WWM).
Case Report: Diagnostic and therapeutic challenges of secondary spinal tuberculosis following percutaneous vertebroplasty: a case of staged surgery with bone cement retention report
Abstract Background: The incidence of secondary infectious complications following percutaneous vertebroplasty is less than 1%. Among these complications, tuberculous spondylitis is particularly rare, with only a few cases reported in the literature since this condition is usually caused by the hematogenous spread of a pre-existing latent Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection rather than by direct intraoperative contamination.
Sprayed Aqueous Microdroplets for Spontaneous Synthesis of Functional Microgels
With the unique properties, like high porosity and swelling in water, tailored chemical structure and functionality, biocompatibility and stimuli-responsiveness, microgels (MGs) have achieved the exciting applications in various fields including catalysis,1 agriculture,2 sensing,3 and medicine.4 Typically, the synthesis of MGs (a few microns to hundreds of microns) is based on the two-phase batch emulsion or microfluidic emulsion strategy.4b, 5 In the conventional water-in-oil or oil-in-water...

Novel aromatic moieties-modified poly(glycidyl amine)s with potent siRNA delivery and cancer treatment effect
Novel aromatic moieties-modified poly(glycidyl amine)s with potent siRNA delivery and cancer treatment effect† The development of safe and effective delivery systems is critical for the clinical applications of siRNA-based therapeutics. Polymer-based vectors have garnered significant attention owing to their structural flexibility and functional tunability.
‘Unite Unite Europe’ The political and cultural structures of Europe as reflected in the Eurovision Song Contest
This study focuses on the voting matrix of the yearly song festival, the Eurovision Song Contest. It analyzes the cohesive bonds among the participating nations and studies the positional equivalencies in taste. The cohesive bonds analysis reveals a three-Bloc political structure. The cohesion of each Bloc is based on different sentiments and interests. The Western Bloc can be viewed as a coalition based on historical and political interests.
Fatigue-Induced HCP-to-FCC Phase Transformation Resulting in Two FCC-Zr Variants in Pure Zirconium
2. Material and Methods Industrially pure zirconium with a nominal composition of Zr-0.99Hf-0.12O (mass fraction, %) was employed as the experimental material in this investigation.

Effect of Ecologically Restored Vegetation Roots on the Stability of Shallow Aggregates in Ionic Rare Earth Tailings Piles
Abstract : Aggregate stability is considered an essential indicator of changes in the physical properties of soils, and vegetation roots play a crucial role in the stability of shallow soil aggregates in ionic rare earth tailings piles during ecological remediation.
A triple-stimulus responsive melanin-based nanoplatform with an aggregation-induced emission-active photosensitiser for imaging-guided targeted synergistic phototherapy/hypoxia-activated chemotherapy
A triple-stimulus responsive melanin-based nanoplatform with an aggregation-induced emission-active photosensitiser for imaging-guided targeted synergistic phototherapy/hypoxia-activated chemotherapy Multimodal synergistic therapy has gained increasing attention in cancer treatment to overcome the limitations of monotherapy and achieve high ancicancer efficacy.
Tumor-targeting peptide functionalized PEG-PLA micelles for efficient drug delivery
Tumor-targeting peptide functionalized PEG-PLA micelles for efficient drug delivery Because of its excellent capacity to significantly improve the chemotherapy drugs’ bioavailability and solubility, block copolymer micelles are widely utilized for chemotherapy drug delivery. In order to further improve the anti-tumor ability and reduce unwanted side effects of drugs, tumor-targeting peptides were used to functionalize the surface of polymer micelles so that the micelles can target tumor tissues.
Facile synthesis of highly biocompatible folic acid-functionalized SiO2 encapsulated rare-earth metal complexes nanoparticles and its application on targeted metal-based complex delivery - Dalton Transactions (RSC Publishing)
Mesoporous silica encapsulated rare-earth metal complex (RC) shell-core nanospheres were first synthesised through a facile W/O (water in oil) inverse microemulsion method. In order to achieve targeted complexes delivery, folic acid (FA) was used as the targeting component for its high affinity to over-expressed folate receptor (FR) in cancer cell.
