Introduction Isolated superior mesenteric artery dissection (ISMAD) is a rare acute mesenteric vascular disease. It is mainly characterized by the formation of true and false lumens after an intimal tear of the superior mesenteric artery (SMA) wall, which can lead to symptoms such as intestinal ischemia and abdominal pain. In severe cases, it can progress to intestinal necrosis and even endanger life (1).
