A series of diglycolamide (DGA) ligands featuring long alkyl chains with ether bonds on the amide nitrogen atoms were developed for selective Sr2+ extraction from HNO3. Compared to the benchmark ligand N,N,N′,N′-tetraoctyldiglycolamide (TODGA), introducing ether bonds into the DGA framework significantly enhances the loading capacity for both HNO3 and Sr2+ ions when n-dodecane is used as the diluent.
