Abstract Noble metals, a group of insoluble fission products (FPs), can accumulate in molten salt reactors (MSRs) and influence system performance and safety through deposition. Upon generation in fission, noble metals are transported by circulating salt and may either deposit on structural surfaces or enter the circulating gas bubble interfaces.
