Quentin Geczy, based in London, attended Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, before continuing his education at the University of Sydney Medical School for two years. He plans to complete his studies closer to Europe while pursuing a career path in consulting and finance, focusing on healthcare.
While in the medical school application process, Quentin remains active in health and education through research and tutoring. He operates a private education business that supports students in STEM subjects and assists them with university admissions. He is also building an online business to provide resources for various UK high school exams (GCSEs, A-Levels), medical exams (BMAT, UCAT, GAMSAT, MCAT), and the SAT.
After completing high school in Australia, Geczy moved to the United States in 2016 to study science and economics. He earned a Bachelor's in Molecular Cellular Development Biology (MCDB) and Economics at Yale University. During his time there, he learned to handle large datasets using R and applied theoretical models to address complex problems in economics, finance, and accounting.
His MCDB studies expanded his pre-med courses, and his thesis titled "Psychedelic Renaissance in Psychiatry" examined how the 5-HT2A receptor’s interaction with psychedelics promotes neuroplasticity. This insight has been part of ongoing changes in how mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD are treated.
Both fields—Economics and MCDB—gave Quentin a well-rounded education that helped him develop analytical and clinical reasoning skills. These disciplines also gave him communication abilities that allowed him to convey complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
Geczy was a Division I Varsity Athlete at Yale, excelling in Lightweight Crew. He balanced athletics with academics, a challenge that taught him discipline, teamwork, resilience, and leadership.
Quentin's desire to pursue medicine was sparked after he suffered a fractured femur in a cycling accident at the age of 13. Over the years, he faced additional health issues, including a severe cycling accident that ended his athletic career. Still, he strengthened his fascination with the human body and the medical professionals who aided in his recovery.
After graduating from Yale, Geczy attended the University of Sydney Medical School, where he focused on Orthopedic Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, and General Surgery. He completed his MD thesis and participated in clinical rotations at various hospitals. His experiences spanned Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, General Practice, and other specialties.
Quentin also contributed to research at Sydney Musculoskeletal Health, co-authoring articles on osteoarthritis treatment. His clinical work extended to London, Melbourne, and German medical institutions.
For five years, he has tutored students in biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics, helping them prepare for exams and guiding student-athletes through the college recruiting process. His education consultancy business quickly grew, and he continues to support students in their university applications.
Fluent in French, German, and English, Quentin Geczy holds multiple citizenships and maintains his fitness by cycling, running, swimming, and skiing. He continues to use his diverse skills to contribute to education, healthcare, and beyond.
