Players who had great seasons and helped their team advance to this year’s Sac-Joaquin Section postseason are eligible for the fan-vote Player of the Year award. Poll participants were selected based on coach submissions and stats from MaxPreps. The Player of the Year will be announced with the All-District team.

Escalon caps historic season with NorCal title in first ever appearance

Four runs in one inning capped a second championship in a historic season for the Escalon softball team. The Cougars, ranked at the No. 5 team in the CIF Northern California Regional Division IV bracket, beat No. 2 Alisal 4-2 Saturday to claim the championship plaque on the road. Freshman pitcher Tenley Adams pitched her fifth complete game of the 2026 postseason. She struck out six batters, gave up six hits, seven walks and a pair of earned runs. She earned her 11th win on the mound.

Escalon season gets reboot after West Valley plays ineligible player in NorCal semis

The first CIF Northern California Regional Playoff run for the Escalon softball team seemed to be over with its 14-5 loss to West Valley on Thursday afternoon. The No. 5 Cougars beat No. 4 Alhambra in the first round, capturing the first ever NorCal win in program history, then traveled to Cottonwood to take on the Division IV No. 1 seed West Valley.
