EP10.08: Prenatal diagnosis of isolated anal atresia

A 38-year-old patient G4P2 with normal NT, normal fetal anatomical scanning at 15 GW and normal CMA. At 22 GW, second anatomic scanning, anal mucosa and anal sphincter were not detected at the level of the anogenital region. Anal Atresia was suspected (figure 1). No other abnormalities were found with no signs of VACTERL. A dedicated sonographic evaluation was performed at a tertiary centre with the same findings with no additional abnormalities detected.
