On June 18, 2026, Nutrition for Learning hosted a Day of Belonging event at Steckle Heritage Farm where Jess Dixon, MPP of Kitchener South-Hespeler, announced their Food for All model for the 2026-2027 school year. This model will provide a free weekly lunch to all students regardless of their financial situation. Nutrition for Learning is a local non-profit organization that works to provide food for students that may lack access.

Cambridge Art Link is a new initiative by the Preston Arts Collective to help people discover artists and businesses in the Cambridge area. The Preston Arts Collective is a grassroots art organization based in Cambridge, Ontario. The project is a collaboration between members of the collective and local businesses. Art Link started last year with three businesses but has now grown.

Piknik.spot is an online resource for those in Waterloo Region who want to eat locally and support small farmers, restaurants and other businesses. It provides a directory and map view of sources for locally grown or produced food. There are also listings of Community Supported Agriculture programs that help you support local farms. The website was created by Laurie Varga and Geoff Whittington, a married couple based in Waterloo Region.
