1 INTRODUCTION Glioblastoma is a highly aggressive primary brain tumor that originates in astrocytes. This tumor has a slight male predominance, and primarily affects older adults, with an average age of onset between 65 and 74 years old. It is also one of the most lethal, with a median survival of around 6 months and a 5-year survival rate below 5%, underscoring the urgent need for novel research approaches to improve diagnosis and therapy for this incurable disease [1, 2].
