Rachel Lu’s Biography

Rachel is a senior editor at Foreign Policy magazine. She was born in Chengdu, China. Prior to founding Chinese media analysis site Tea Leaf Nation, which was subsequently acquired by the FP Group, she practiced corporate law in New York and Hong Kong, and worked as a sovereign risk analyst. She holds a law degree from Harvard University and an Economics and International Studies degree from Yale University. She has appeared on media outlets including BBC television and Public Radio International. She is a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese.
