Homomorphic polynomial evaluation using Galois structure and applications to BFV bootstrapping
Paper 2023/1304 , KDDI Research, Japan , Royal Holloway, University of London, UK , Royal Holloway, University of London, UK BGV and BFV are among the most widely used fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) schemes. Both schemes have a common plaintext space, with a rich algebraic structure. Our main contribution is to show how this structure can be exploited to more efficiently homomorphically evaluate polynomials.
Optimizations and Trade-offs for HElib
Paper 2023/104 Optimizations and Trade-offs for HElib , Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) , Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) , Royal Holloway, University of London Abstract In this work, we investigate the BGV scheme as implemented in HElib. We begin by performing an implementation-specific noise analysis of BGV. This allows us to derive much tighter bounds than what was previously done. To confirm this, we compare our bounds against the state of the art.
Verifying Classic McEliece: examining the role of formal methods in post-quantum cryptography standardisation
Paper 2023/010 Verifying Classic McEliece: examining the role of formal methods in post-quantum cryptography standardisation , City, University of London , Simula UiB, Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University , Royal Holloway University of London , Royal Holloway University of London Developers of computer-aided cryptographic tools are optimistic that formal methods will become a vital part of developing new cryptographic systems.
A Central Limit Framework for Ring-LWE Decryption
Paper 2019/452 A Central Limit Framework for Ring-LWE Decryption Abstract This paper develops Central Limit arguments for analysing the noise in ciphertexts in two homomorphic encryption schemes that are based on Ring-LWE. The first main contribution of this paper is to present an average-case noise analysis for the BGV scheme. Our approach builds upon the recent work of Costache et al. that gives the approximation of a polynomial product as a multivariate Normal distribution.
