A dangerous driver who crashed into a wall spent 40 minutes on a roof as he tried to avoid the police. Kenny Dickson had been released from prison the day before he was seen behind the wheel of a car in Blackpool , on June 3, 2026. The driver was banned and was not insured to drive the vehicle, but when the police indicated for him to stop he sped off towards Devonshire Road. A police officer followed in a marked police car as Dickson reached speeds of up to 60mph, shortly after 11am.

A woman bravely faced her abuser in court to tell him how two years of violence had changed her as a person. Adam Sumner, 38, was jailed for five years and two months after Preston Crown Court heard how his once confident partner was left feeling constantly anxious and looking over her shoulder. Over a two year period, Sumner repeatedly attacked the woman, who has asked not to be named.
