Hana Baba’s Biography

Hana Baba is a journalist with 20 years experience in the world of radio journalism.

She is a reporter and host of "CrossCurrents"- a daily radio newsmagazine that broadcasts on KALW Public Radio 97.1 FM in the San Francisco Bay Area.

She interviews and reports on ethnic communities, poverty, health, culture, religion, arts, and the global nature of the San Francisco Bay Area. Her freelance work appears on NPR programs, PRI's The World, BBC World Service, and New America Media.

An Arabic speaker, she also reports on Arab and Muslim communities and issues.
A Sudanese-American, Hana enjoys reporting from and about Sudan and Sudanese in the diaspora. She is Secretary of the Sudanese Association of Northern California.

Hana also enjoys emceeing live events and recording voice overs for nonprofits. She is the voice of the audio tour of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art's permanent exhibit, and is an aspiring author of an audiobook of Sudanese folk tales told in English.
