The heat is returning to Bangladesh with more intensity. Daytime temperatures are already becoming difficult to tolerate, and for many, fans are no longer enough. As summer approaches, air conditioners will gradually shift from being a luxury to a necessity. If the coming months resemble the extreme summer of 2023, surviving peak hours without cooling—at least for those who can afford additional cooling—may become nearly impossible.

Yet, these two worlds converge in the shared plight of labourers whose sweat fuels our economy.
