Cop Killed, another injured in firing incident in AJK's Bhimber
BHIMBER: A policeman was killed and another injured after unidentified armed men opened fire on a Forest Department police team in Bhimber district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Friday, police said. According to police, the Forest Department team had reached the area after receiving reports that local residents were attempting to encroach on government-owned forest land. As officials arrived at the site, the suspects opened fire before fleeing the scene.

FIA busts human trafficking gang sending Pakistanis to Cambodia for online scams
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested four members of a six-man human trafficking gang in Gujranwala for allegedly sending Pakistanis to Cambodia and selling them to online scam operations, officials said on Wednesday. According to the FIA’s deputy director, the group consisted of six suspects, two of whom — identified as Mazhar and Abbas — were based in Cambodia, while four operated from Pakistan.
FIA nabs agent for sending 39 Pakistanis to Japan as fake football team
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Gujranwala has arrested a notorious human trafficker, Waqas Ali, from Sialkot International Airport for sending dozens of young men to Japan under the guise of fake football teams. According to the FIA spokesperson, the Composite Circle Gujranwala conducted the operation and apprehended Waqas Ali, who had been wanted in several cases of human smuggling.

Eid-ul-Azha is supposed to be the time for sacrifice but it seems those selling knives and honing tools to sharpen them want to have their cake and eat it too in Gujranwala, Punjab. Prices of all things related to the Eid-ul-Azha animal sacrifice are soaring. “I came to get my knives sharpened but the price they are asking for is out of my reach. Will go look for other alternates,” a young man said after being disappointed by the high prices. Even buying new knives is very expensive.
