PROVO — A major bridge on University Avenue in Provo is going to be torn down and rebuilt, suspecting to cause some significant traffic delays. University Avenue carries a lot of traffic north and south through Provo and the bridge over the Union pacific track, and now front runner tracks, was built back in 1966. UDOT says it’s old it needs safety upgrades so the bridge is going to be rebuilt.

SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Transportation along with the Utah Transit Authority have teamed up to put more Frontrunner trains in service. The idea is to be able to carry more people during the morning and afternoon commutes. UDOT has said its plan will allow it to run trains every 15 minutes during commute times. The current frequency is every 30 minutes. But it needs to do this. And that means it needs more room for tracks near 600 South and 500 West in Provo.

SALT LAKE CITY — The last holiday weekend of the summer is here and the weather looks nearly perfect if you have outdoor plans. KSL Meteorologist Matt Johnson said Labor Day weekend will be not too hot and not too cold. Temperature highs will be in the 80s for most of Northern Utah, with most of the thunderstorms having moved out. But if you’re heading south for the weekend to, say, St. George, it’s still pretty toasty and could hit 100 degrees on Sunday and Monday.
