The Fonda Theatre has hosted its share of historic performances over the past century—from its early days as a vaudeville house in the 1920s to gigs by Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails, to The Rolling Stones’ landmark Sticky Fingers show in 2015—but you’d be hard-pressed to match the electricity that overtook the room this past weekend for two underplay nights with Paul McCartney.

They call it the “orange feeling.” Founded in 1971 by two high schoolers and a concert promoter, the annual music and culture festival Roskilde is hosted in the Danish town it’s named after about 18 miles west of Copenhagen. With a population of 53,354, Roskilde is the 10th largest city in Denmark, but for one week every summer over the past five decades, over 130,000 visitors descend upon the idyllic festival grounds for seven days of camping, music, art, food, and beer. Lots of beer.

The free, FLOOD-sponsored day party on April 26 in LA will feature sets by the Local Natives co-founder and Kaycie Satterfield to benefit MaeDay Rescue. Local Natives co-founder Kelcey Ayer is building on his solo resume with a new single called “Ghosts of Neighborhoods Dogs” featuring Jordana, which arrives next Tuesday. To celebrate, he’s throwing a free day party at Creature Comforts Tap Room & Brewery in Downtown LA.
