Bringing the farm to school: Inyo Farm@School delivers its first harvest to the cafeteria
The Inyo Farm@School on the Bishop Elementary School campus recently harvested 189 pounds of carrots grown by the students during the winter months and served in the school’s cafeteria last Monday and Tuesday. “Our school farm is an outdoor classroom, and this first harvest is a milestone," Bishop Unified School District Superintendent Katie Koller said. “Students aren’t just learning about agriculture — they’re experiencing it, and now they get to enjoy the results.
Reset Service Light *not oil*
Just did first oil service myself. No problem with that reset But need to reset the 'service required' yellow triangle warning. Short of visiting dealer, how do you do that? Any low cost OBD reader do it?

How to heal and revitalize our beloved profession
A few weeks ago, my longtime friend and personal physician refused to grant any more prescription refills for the two medications that I have taken regularly for close to a decade. In a very professional tone, he firmly (and appropriately) pointed out that it had been more than three years (please don’t judge me) since I had been examined or subjected to any routine screening lab work. Having now been trapped by my physician on the one side and my spouse on the opposite, it was futile to resist.
#OpenSchoolsNow
Back in March, 2020, federal and state governments decided to temporarily close schools. The concept was to prevent COVID-19 by theoretically interfering with SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus spread. This was sold to the public, largely through the mainstream media, as “two weeks to stem the spread,” or “two weeks to flatten the curve.” The general idea was to interrupt what was thought to be a possible major vector of viral spread, school-age children en masse in school.
National Physicians Week
Today marks the start of the fifth annual National Physicians Week; a seven-day celebration in honor of doctors that aims to highlight their hard work, dedication, and the differences they make in the lives of others day in and day out throughout the year. The idea for this week was conceived by Dr. Kim Jackson of Physicians Working Together in replacement of “Doctor’s Day” as an extended acknowledgment of the amazing work performed by physicians all over the country.

Holding a mirror to the management system: How mature is it?
To keep its performance improving, an enterprise must keep its management system improving, too. A regular, rigorous cycle of assessing itself reveals actions that help make the system more mature. Over the past 20 years of evaluating and diagnosing lean transformations, our research keeps confirming the familiar statistic: fewer than 30 percent of organizations succeed in improving both their performance and their long-term health.
