With the good fortune of being invited to do a full four-hour hands-on preview with the upcoming and hotly anticipated Silent Hill: Townfall, it’s hard not to be eagerly excited. Often, these press experiences take place in an office space in a conference room filled with machines. For this press preview though, the chosen few were greeted into an enormous ballroom a la vintage turn of the century freemason architecture, the lights turned down to a paltry glimmer of shadows.

Prior to 2026, there had been eight different Spider-Man live-action films made. One thing has united each bracket of continuity, the public loves the Spider-Man character and the popularity of it is on a scale of public notoriety on par with DC Comics’ Superman. Spider-Man is a beloved character of the times of monoculture. Everyone knows the character and has an affinity for him.

Photo Credit: Brett Padelford Few filmmakers have developed such a signature style in their approach that you could know you were watching one of their movies watching any randomly selected thirty-second stretch of it. With Wes Anderson, the dialog is verbose, punchy and sharp, and every frame of the film feels laboriously, meticulously crafted. There is an abundance of detail so rich, it’s almost dizzying to watch through as you could freezeframe any instant and sit analyzing every tiny detail.
