Introduction Pain and chronic pain of joints can have varying aetiologies. One such cause is arthritis, a condition which broadly classifies a range of diseases that occur within bone joints. Clinical signs of arthritis include painful swelling, stiffness and attenuation in the extent of joint motion. Arthritis can be either inflammatory, such as rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, or non-inflammatory, such as osteoarthritis (OA), which is the most common form of arthritis in humans.

Introduction Regular physical activity is associated with improvements in body composition, bone, and cardiovascular health (1), as well as positively affecting mood and mental health (2). A strong interest in performance enhancement via natural and legal (and safe) routes exists, and while much of this research has focused on male performance, a growing demand for analogous research applicable to women arises.

Abstract To examine the effect of a Caralluma Fimbriata extract (CFE) on biomarkers of satiety and body composition in overweight adults. A double-blind, randomised, placebo controlled trial to examine the effect of a Caralluma Fimbriata extract (CFE) on biomarkers of satiety and body composition in overweight adults. Eighty-three men and women aged between 20 and 50 years of age completed 16 weeks of daily supplementation with either CFE or placebo.
