DAYTON, Ohio (WKEF) -- As the Miami Valley gets ready to turn its eyes to the sky for the total solar eclipse, eye doctors in Dayton are warning you to take precaution. A solar eclipse occurs when the moon moves between the sun and the earth blocking the light of the sun from reaching earth. On April 8, 2024 parts of Ohio, including much of the Dayton area, will be in the line of totality. Doctors say viewing a partial or total eclipse with your bare eyes can cause permanent damage.
