THE rain managed to hold off for the 2023 National Cherry Festival Parade earlier this month with plenty of colour, smiles, laughter and fun as the floats made their way down Boorowa Street. The 73rd Woolworths National Cherry Festival was held over three huge days. Visitors travelled from near and far to attend the three days filled with all of the tastes and colours of Young.

'ISIS bride' Mariam Raad appears in NSW court

A woman has faced court charged with entering and remaining in parts of Syria that were under the control of the Islamic terror group. Mariam Raad appeared in person before magistrate Don McLennan at Young Local Court, in south-central NSW, on March 15. Although Ms Raad appeared in person her solicitor appeared via Audio-Visual Link, as did a representative for the Commonwealth, Crown Prosecutor Conor McCraith.

It was a tough day on the track for the Grenfell trainers who made their way to Parkes on Tuesday for the Parkes Harness Racing Club's Australia Day meeting.
