How is social media changing news?
Rumors and fiction can be quickly passed around as fact. A person can become biased on a story before it is verified truth.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
I don't read much fiction, if I can help it.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
A journalist gathers facts and assembles them into a factual timeline exercising caution to exclude bias.

Multiple computer models, satellite, radar....

Why did you become a journalist?
Curiosity and accident
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
No, but I was in the photography club which sometimes submitted material to the newspaper.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
The acquisition of NWS Doppler radar on the Washington coast.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Read, learn, ask questions. Reread your material before publishing and ask specific questions for clarity.
