I'm a multiple Emmy award-winning reporter and Emmy nominated TV commentator. I have 42 years of experience. Most of my career has been in television broadcast news, but I also have experience in radio, print and digital.

I have worked in Toledo, Chicago, Corpus Christi, San Antonio, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Dallas. I have 50 awards and nominations for my journalism work and two national awards for social media.

Many of you helped these people get work after being laid off or because they needed a new place to feel appreciated and paid well. So thank you! Journalism Job Openings: The August List

The month of July proved our value as journalists, from the Presidential debate to the attempted assassination of Donald Trump. This was followed by President Biden’s decision not to run for re-election and Vice President Kamala Harris’s decision to step into the race for President. That’s just on the national front; journalists were also just as busy in local news. Unfortunately, more journalists lost their jobs in July because of downsizing, buyouts, and newsroom closings.

What was your first job as a journalist?

My first job was a television news reporter in Toledo, Ohio.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

We used typewriters to write out the news when I got into journalism in 1981.

Social media is making news instant to the public.Journalists have to apply the same commitment to accuracy on social media.
