I’m Rebecca Roberts (most people call me Beccy), a Senior Content Editor at Mumsnet, based in Leeds. I lead our sleep and kitchen gadget coverage, which means I spend an unreasonable amount of time thinking about mattresses, duvets, air fryers and whether a “quick clean” setting is ever actually quick.
I started out in journalism at Liverpool John Moores University, editing the student newspaper, The Looprevil Press, before completing my NCTJ postgraduate diploma in Journalism at Liverpool Community College. After that I moved to Dubai and spent six years at ExpatWoman, working across editorial and commercial content and leading the content team.
These days I test products the way most parents do: in real life, with interruptions, chaos and the odd sticky handprint. My reviews focus on what works for busy families, how things hold up over time, and whether they’re actually worth the money.
Outside work I’m a mum of two, usually juggling school-life admin, corralling a PTA, walking the dogs, or trying to convince myself I don’t need another small kitchen appliance.
