Introduction PR-10 proteins are widely distributed across all plant species.1 As key components of the plant‘s innate immune system, these proteins play a crucial role in defending against pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, and fungi.2 PR-10 proteins contribute to plant defense through their ribonuclease (RNase) activity, targeting and degrading the RNA of invading viruses and certain bacteria and fungi that rely on RNA for infection and replication.

Abstract The ProQ/FinO family of RNA binding proteins mediate sRNA-directed gene regulation throughout gram-negative bacteria. Here, we investigate the structural basis for RNA recognition by ProQ/FinO proteins, through the crystal structure of the ProQ/FinO domain of the Legionella pneumophila DNA uptake regulator, RocC, bound to the transcriptional terminator of its primary partner, the sRNA RocR.
