1 Introduction This study explores the experiences of mental health nurses caring for people who use drugs (PWUDs) in Ghana, a perspective rarely examined in the literature. Using a qualitative exploratory design guided by the socio-ecological framework and Braun and Clarke's thematic analysis and reported in line with COREQ, the study provides a rigorous account of systemic, cultural and institutional barriers that shape care within a criminalised drug policy environment.
