What was your first job as a journalist?

After a few part-time jobs (in a museum, in a science magazine), I joined Folha de S. Paulo as a staff writer (foreign news desk).

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Oh yes, Remingtons.

How is social media changing news?

Big newsapers will disappear. It will be a long agony

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To shake people's perception of reality by showing what they don't know

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

At home, Libreoffice; at the workplace, Phoenix.

Why did you become a journalist?

I was a engineering student in the late 70's when I decided to rebel both against my father and the military regime.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

Not at the high school. At FAAP engineering school. The paper was called O Xabu.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I covered the Seoul Olympics in '88, interviewed Alberto Fujimori in 1992 and Fawzia Koofi in 2010.
