1 Introduction The risk of lingual nerve (LN) damage rises during procedures in the oral cavity near the mandibular third molar due to the intricate network of branches, distributions, and connections in this area (Erdogmus, Govsa, and Celik 2008). The LN is at risk of injury during dental procedures such as extractions, inferior alveolar nerve blocks, tumor resection, and reconstructive surgery (Tojyo et al. 2019).
