Americans on both sides of the aisle agree: Our current tax code is complex, costly and time consuming. It hurts the ability of American businesses to grow and create new middle-class jobs, and for individuals to cover basic household costs. We believe it’s time for real reforms that simplify the tax code, lower taxes on all Americans and their families and stimulate job growth. We are encouraged by a number of the reforms proposed in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act working its way through the House.
We are living in a time of great uncertainty. Rising ocean levels are causing a vast erosion of our continents. War has damaged cities and countries around the globe. And national security fears have become engrained in the everyday consciousness of Americans. The safety, livelihood, and prosperity of Americans each day are in question. But these trials can be viewed through the lens of immense opportunity.
