One woman was taken to the Anthony S. Eden Hospital in George Town on Friday night  following a suspected explosion at a Bodden Town home. The condition of the woman and the manner of the injuries she sustained are unknown at this time. Fire service personnel and police were on the scene. The incident happened at 7:01pm, 911 officials said, at a home on Harvey Stephenson Drive off Anton Bodden Drive. The home suffered substantial damage to its roof and assessments are ongoing.

News of the sudden death of Breezy the blue iguana has left United Kingdom-based author David Roth and his family distraught. Roth penned the children’s book that made Breezy the blue iguana a household name in the Cayman Islands. “I thought the whole thing was like a bad dream. It’s just really, really sad news,” he said in a recent interview with Compass TV via Zoom, as he recounted learning of Breezy’s death.

A well-known blue iguana, Breezy, has died from a dog attack. The iguana was found dead on Thursday morning at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park. National Trust Director Frank Roulstone said Breezy, who was the subject of a popular local children’s book, was nearly 6 years old. He said the team at both the botanic park and the Blue Iguana Conservation Programme were saddened by the death.
