AC Mardan orders removal of encroachments, warns of legal action

Mardan  -  Assistant Commissioner (AC) Mardan Dr. Ahmad Dogar has issued a notice directing all market unions, shopkeepers, traders, and businessmen to immediately remove all types of encroachments from bazaars and public roads. According to the notice, all forms of encroachment on roads, footpaths, streets, government land, drains, and other public places are illegal and punishable under the law.

Mardan   -  The encroachers have occupied large portions of the city’s bazaars, roads, and chowks, allegedly in connivance with the concerned officials, causing traffic congestion and inconvenience for pedestrians. In a survey conducted by The Nation, it was observed that rampant encroachments across major bazaars and chowks in Mardan have severely disrupted daily movement in the city.

17 dead as van bumps into parked bus on Swat Motorway

MARDAN  -  At least 17 people were killed and 10 others injured in a tragic traffic accident on Swat Motorway near Ismaila in Rustam tehsil of Mardan district on Monday. According to Motorway Police, the accident occurred near the Saeedabad Khoro Koto Bridge, Ismailia, when a passenger coach crashed into passenger bus that was parked on the roadside due to a mechanical fault. Police said the parked coach had reportedly developed a problem in its generator, forcing it to stop by the roadside.
