1 INTRODUCTION Transportation accounts for 28% of greenhouse gas (GHG) emission in the US [35]. Similarly, in the UK and Canada, the GHG emission from transportation stands at 27% and 28%, respectively [11, 17]. In countries like Canada, where a large percentage of electricity is generated from renewable sources, studies show that electric vehicles (EVs) are a good alternative to fuel-based ones, offering a measure to curtail GHG emissions [2, 38].
