The spectacular assist which recently helped Leeds Powerchair FC score their third goal against Teesside PFC, and which saw the West Yorkshire club crowned FA Disability Cup winners, has since gained global attention.

A Leeds United and England fan who had been missing for 10 days while travelling to the World Cup has been found "safe and well", his brother has confirmed. Michael Hewitt, nicknamed Little Mick, had not been in contact with friends or family since 21 June, when he was visiting Barcelona before he planned to fly to Boston to watch England play Ghana.

Yorkshire's Congolese community excited for England clash

For the first time in the nation's history, the Democratic Republic of Congo have reached the knockout rounds of a FIFA World Cup - and will face England today. The UK is home to around 30,000 Congolese nationals, and there are expat communities in cities such as Leeds and Sheffield. DR Congo last played in the World Cup in 1974, when the country was known as Zaire and The Leopards became only the third African team to take part in the tournament.
