Dear Editor In the recent article ‘Protecting female health workers from ionising radiation’ [1], the authors quote the findings of studies of female US orthopaedic surgeons [2] that suggest 2.9-3.9-fold excess risk in this group compared with an age matched female population as evidence to suggest a link between occupational radiation exposure and breast cancer. Indeed, this is the primary source of evidence in this article.
