What was your first job as a journalist?

Wrote an editorial on the economic innovation dilemma caused by OEM's moving manufacturing over to China, and Foxconn employees were dying

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Yes but I was in 8th grade, and that was the last time I used one. Got my 1st PC in 1989, haven't looked back since

How is social media changing news?

Speed of knowledge requires a really adaptive set of tools to keep up on the media cycle, requires a new attitude, the old days are over

Clark Kent

What does it mean to be a journalist?

be ethical, and care about who you are writing about, they are people even if they're ethically / morally challenged

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

I am not a fiction writer, more non-fiction and investigative / researcher

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

laptop, phone, MS Office, google and Chrome

I don't have an answer for that, just do my thing, if others find value in in what it is I report on then great

Why did you become a journalist?

Not a journalist, an investigator of what is wrong with american, european, and asian firms on why they aren't effective at innovating

No

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

The story of systematic innovation at Intel, what a team that generated great results, and I was right in the middle of it.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Find some wrong you want to right, understand that true and real journalism is about maintaining the pillars of the 4th Estate's traditions

When's the best time to pitch you?

Afternoon on a Friday, so I can think about it over the weekend
