What was your first job as a journalist?

Adding the news to a videogame site

Yes

How is social media changing news?

The speed in which news is spread. Often its a race to break the story rather than report the actual facts

J Jonah Jameson, a calm face in a chaotic world

What does it mean to be a journalist?

To tell the story, whether it be yours or someone elses'

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Wordpress. Audacity. Squadcast.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter but they are all terrible.

Taika Waititi. I have so many questions.

Why did you become a journalist?

I enjoy the challenge of writing, coming up with the ideas and putting them into a readablelelelle form.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I drew some very unfunny cartoons.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

My recent article on Burnout in the industry

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Your first article will be awful, but you can't write your 50th unless you write your first, so get writing and get it over with.

When's the best time to pitch you?

2 coffees into the day..

What's the best pitch you ever got?

A very young person asked us to help cover their crowdfunding project to help get the word out. I was impressed what they have achieved.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

Being asked to review a product by watching a Youtube video and looking at some photographs of the product.

What's your favorite drink?

Cherry Pepsi

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

At a Table, learning rules for a new board game or walking my Rotten Soldier.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

Dan Turot, Byline Times, Tabletop Games Mag.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That board game media can't be critical of the games it reviews.
