James Mageau has again shown himself to be ill-informed (or intent on misinforming readers). So, for one final time, I will correct his inanities. Previously, Mr. Harvey Perry listed 16 well-known military leaders and administrators who were selected by Donald Trump for his administration who then later denounced Trump. Mageau cited Mike Pompeo (“graduated first in his class at West Point”) as a single shining example of a military leader on the other side of that coin.

In his recent letter regarding Donald Trump’s views on the military, Mr. James Mageau cites Mike Pompeo as one shining example of a military leader who has been highly respected. I feel compelled to correct some of the misinformation contained in that citation. Pompeo served in Germany (a plum assignment that he would have selected) as a platoon leader (not platoon commander).

After reading Mr. James Mageau’s recent diatribe (“Sciarillo doesn’t even qualify as ‘nincompoop,” March 6) against Mr. Joseph Sciarillo, I felt a bit shortchanged. Early in his letter, it appears that Mr. Mageau is going to provide sound refutation of Mr. Sciarello’s comment about Donald Trump’s disrespect of veterans. Mageau then admirably cites his own veteran status and that of (apparently) all of his friends and family.
