KINGSTON, N.Y. — Former Kingston High star infielder Zack Short was outrighted by the New York Mets to their Triple-A farm team in Syracuse on Saturday, June 27. With shortstop Francisco Lindor returning to the Mets’ lineup on Wednesday, the 31-year-old Short was designated for assignment. Short cleared waivers and will head to the Syracuse Mets, unless he rejects the assignment. He has been outrighted previously and can elect free agency.

Ty Monroe, a Wiltwyck Golf Club member who will be a senior at Saugerties High in the fall, continued to lead the Herdegen following a blistering 3-under-par 67 in the second round at Kingston’s Twaalfskill Club on Saturday, June 26.
