We're more engaged with our audience/readers. I know that's a bit of a cliche, but once you're really engaged a reader, you've got them.

Passion.

Why did you become a journalist?
Passion.

I was a geek in high school. Spent most of my time keeping books from getting knocked out of my hands.

I recently worked on a fatal bus crash in Yucaipa, CA.
