FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE LANSING, MI — The New Citizens Press Community Action Network (TNCPCAN) has announced that the 2026 Poetry in the City event, originally scheduled for Thursday, July 16, 2026 has been cancelled due to construction work currently taking place on the steps of the Michigan State Capitol. The decision was made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of poets, performers, volunteers, and attendees while construction is underway.
