Deletions in Karnataka’s draft SIR rolls alarming | Data

The draft electoral rolls released after the completion of the enumeration phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Karnataka on Monday (August 24, 2026) has revealed alarming levels of deletions, unprecedented when compared with other major States that saw high deletions during the enumeration phase.

Special Intensive Revision: AI used to detect 6.41 lakh anomalies in Bengaluru

For the first time since the enumeration phase began, the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) has disclosed that there have been at least 6.41 lakh “logical discrepancies” or anomalies within its jurisdiction. So far, only 38.81% of enumeration forms were digitised as of 4 p.m. on Saturday. The overall figure also includes 2.66 lakh anomalies flagged in Bengaluru Urban. However, the nature of these discrepancies has not been disclosed in the official progress report.
