Writing is more than a hobby for me.

I believe in the power of journalism to hold people in power accountable, and to highlight societal injustices.

Some of the most astute observations of the human condition were captured by writers. Stories and poems are like a secret pathway into someone else's view of the world and I would love to one day contribute my own perspective to the conversation.

I graduated from the University of Limerick (UL) in 2008 with a BA in Applied Languages with Computing, and speak German, English, Spanish, and some very basic Russian.

In the late 2000s, I worked as a research associate in UL creating Reusable Learning Objects on the topic of improving students' academic writing skills.

Later, I started a PhD in Sociolinguistics and German Studies (unfinished) while also teaching languages in UL part-time.

Before I decided to explore feature and op ed writing, I was a technical writer with a focus on instructional design.

I currently contribute articles as a freelance reporter to Irish publications on occasion.

My latest project is a novel but it could take a while before that sees the light of day. Some day over the rainbow hopefully.
