We’re just coming off Fourth of July weekend, so this week’s WGN Morning News “What We Did This Weekend” segment would figure to be pretty interesting. While Larry Potash, Lourdes Duarte and Paul Konrad had pretty typical holiday weekends, Mike Toomey got to spend time with his third grandchild. But nobody had a more interesting weekend than producer Ross McAbee and his friends, who went to Mexico City for some World Cup action and bachelor party hijinks.

WGN spoofs the ‘Max Headroom’ incident

Last Saturday marked 38 years since WGN’s tv signals were hijacked in the “Max Headroom” incident. On November 22nd, 1987 someone, dressed as “Max Headroom,” hacked into the signal at WGN and PBS. This craziness ensued for about 17 seconds before getting back to Dan Roan’s sports highlights. The FCC investigated, and was never able to find out who did it. But would you believe it?
