Enthusiasm About Getting the COVID-19 Vaccine Is on the Rise
Since mid-December, Verywell Health has been tracking how Americans feel about the COVID-19 vaccines and how those feelings are changing over time. As we head into the spring, two things are clear. First, enthusiasm for vaccines is rising. But second, the mental health impact of the pandemic is getting worse, quickly. A February report from the American Psychological Association says 75% of adults attributed their prolonged high stress levels to the pandemic.
How People Feel About the COVID-19 Vaccine Will Dictate Success or Failure
In mid-December, Verywell Health launched a bi-weekly, representative sample survey to measure attitudes and behaviors towards COVID-19 vaccines. The goal of this 1,000-person study is to track Americans’ feelings and how those sentiments might (or might not) change over time. Unfortunately, the data so far shows that we are not moving in the right direction.
Three Questions that Determine if Your Brand Is Patient Ready
Today, most brand marketers recognize the importance of having a solid patient engagement plan. Building that plan, though, is incredibly challenging. You must consider and assess a lot, from balancing financial resources and ensuring patient privacy, to addressing legal, regulatory, and compliance hurdles.
4 Website Qualities that Make People Feel Better and Drive Health Actions
Most people don’t casually browse online for health information. Usually, they’re turning to the internet to seek help for a specific reason—perhaps a troubling symptom has emerged, or they’re preparing for an upcoming doctor’s appointment. This type of active, results-oriented search behavior is typical across hundreds of health conditions and thousands of search queries. The fact is, as varied as medical topics may be, the people who go online to find health information share many similarities.

Staying Atop the Changing Cyber Insurance Market: A Necessity for Boards
Cyber threats are a strategic enterprise risk that requires significant focus and time by boards and C-suite members, among other key stakeholders. And yet many organizations have worryingly low board and executive level engagement around cyber risk, according to the Marsh Microsoft Global Cyber Risk Perception Survey.
A RETIREMENT LOVE LETTER TO THE INDUSTRY
While going to F.I.T. in the 1970s (where I met my wife to be), I worked at Barney’s part-time. Barney Pressman was actually there, working a few hours a day folding jeans. What a great experience! Fortunately, after graduation, I met with Samuel Klaus, founder of Burma Bibas, who hired me on the spot. He quickly became my mentor/teacher/father figure. I soon became a vice president and creative/design director.
Accessibility: A Prescription for Success in Pharma UX
Has your marketing team inadvertently created a barrier in your user experience? If so, you’re not alone. Many teams overlook an essential element of optimal user experience: Accessibility. Imagine a customer arrives outside of a pharmacy, needing to ask an important medical question of the pharmacist. She soon discovers the pharmacy is only accessible via stairs, creating an impossible situation in her wheelchair-bound state.
My Other Life with Janet Reimund
PM360 recently spoke to Janet Reimund, Senior Manager, Patient Engagement and Advocacy, CSL Behring, about creating her own jewelry line. PM360: How did you get started making jewelry? Janet Reimund: I always had a love for both jewelry and nature. My father was a landscape designer and taught me everything he knew about leaves and plants. My mother was an accomplished seamstress who designed and made clothes—even wedding gowns.
Accuracy and Empathy Can Coexist in Medical Content
Medical content has a reputation that clinical is credible; if it is inspirational, empathetic, or interesting, it can’t be accurate. But this couldn’t be further from the truth. Medical content doesn’t have to be boring to be accurate. It doesn’t have to be soulless to be authoritative. And it doesn’t have to be alarmist, ever. Some health publishers (Verywell included) are making it core to their mission to be a source of hope and reassurance—sometimes, a headache is just a headache.
Marketing at the Point of Concern
Maybe you have a spouse who refuses to get an annual physical? Or an aging parent who denies they’re having problems remembering things? These moments, more aptly referred to as “points of concern,” are the basis of important conversations—conversations that happen before scheduling a doctor appointment. Yes, such conversations can be personal, awkward, stressful, and often devolve into conflict. And unfortunately, sometimes they don’t ever happen.
What You Need to Know About Cyber Insurance and Regulatory Change
As recent events have shown, the pace and scale of cyberattacks continue to grow, as do the financial stakes—revenue losses, recovery expenses, liability costs, and potentially severe regulatory fines are all consequences facing companies.
Health Publishers Should Not Be Medical Textbooks
Walking through my kitchen a few weeks ago, my eyes were drawn to a report that was pinned to a corkboard my wife and I use to help keep our family organized. I looked closer and figured it was some sort of medical report. But, right away, I knew I didn’t fully understand what it said. I asked my wife about the report, and she told me it was her thyroid function lab results.
