This week, the Nebraska Supreme Court will take up argument on the constitutionality of the Legislature’s recent efforts to automatically restore voting rights to those convicted of felonies. This is inconsistent with over 100 years of our state’s history. As Nebraska’s secretary of state and attorney general, we have taken oaths to uphold Nebraska’s Constitution, which these statutes violate.
