@thedavidcrosby I think it’s fair enough. Densmore and Krieger took back seat to keyboards in way too many Doors songs. Ego, I suspect, steered band in ways that got dated quick.
@bowiesongs I'm not much of a McCartney fan. But by making a BAND post-Beatles – not a solo act with studio musicians – his live stuff had most energy/cohesion of all post-Beatles. (This, however, doesn't make it the best.)
@andrewgallix I've wondered if the emergence of novellas – 80- to 100-page novels – will help? I don't think people have the time/willingness to crack open a 500-page book as before. Even more true for non-fiction, I feel.
I've created a Rolling Stones sax solo chart, as I'm lately trying to RANK all 16 Stones sax solos. Still struggle with where to put in "Can You Hear Me Knocking," never one of my favorites but the sax is great. "Casino Boogie" is my current #2. #rollingstones #saxpert
